At the end of the 1958 season, UEFA offered the FA the opportunity to submit both United and the eventual champions, Wolverhampton Wanderers, for the 1958–59 European Cup as a tribute to the victims of Man United (The Munich air disaster of 6 February 1958), but the FA declined!!!!!
