England Nat.Team 2008 Away kit
The English national men's football team represents England in international men's football and is controlled by The Football Association, the governing body for football in England. Although part of the United Kingdom, England has its own representative side that plays in all the major professional tournaments, though not in the Olympic Games as the IOC only recognises the United Kingdom. England are the most successful of the four Home Nations, having won the British Home Championship 54 times and the FIFA World Cup once. They have never won the UEFA European Football Championship, however, though they have promised for years to do so. Traditionally, England's greatest rivals have been Scotland.[2] England's most recent meeting with Scotland was a Euro 2000 play-off in November 1999, which Scotland won 1-0 at Wembley Stadium (although England won the two-legged tie 2-1 on aggregate). Since regular fixtures against the Scots came to an end in the late 1980s, other rivalries have become more prominent. England–Argentina and England–Germany are rivalries that have produced particularly eventful encounters.
