Oldham Athletic (England) 2008 Home kit

Oldham Athletic Association Football Club is an English football club based at Boundary Park, on Sheepfoot Lane, Oldham. They are currently playing in Coca-Cola League 1.The club's nickname is "Latics", a shortening of the word 'Athletic', a name also shared by near neighbours Wigan Athletic. Boundary Park is 9 miles from Old Trafford, home of Manchester United, 7 miles from the City of Manchester Stadium, home of Manchester City, 6 miles from Spotland, home of Rochdale and 7 miles from Gigg Lane, home of Bury. Although their more regular traditional local rivals such as Manchester City, Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers are no longer regular opponents, the Latics still engage in local rivalry with West Yorkshire clubs Huddersfield Town and Bradford City, and to lesser extent, Lancashire rivals Blackpool. Dislike for Manchester United is common amongst Oldham fans, partly related to Mark Hughes late equaliser in the FA Cup Semi-Final in 1994, partly due to the large number of Manchester United fans who live in Oldham. A frequently heard Latics chant goes "We hate Man U, We hate Man U, We hate Man U and City too". Ironically, one of their most famous supporters is Paul Scholes, the Manchester United and England midfielder, who cites ex-Oldham striker Frankie Bunn as one of his favourite players
